Welcome to Siegreich Kennels web site. Our names are Denise Browning & Darryl Howlett and we live in Gordonvale which is a small town about 25 km south of Cairns in Far North Queensland. We are a small kennel and although we do not breed many litters, we concentrate on breeding dogs of excellent temperament and structure.
Our first dog was Jedda who we bought from Sue Robertson of Kieserhund GSD’s in Brisbane. Jedda was bought as a pet but was shown lightly until she had her first litter. We then got Karla, also from Sue, and she has been successfully shown in the specialty and all breeds rings in North Queensland and Brisbane. Both Jedda and Karla have been hip/elbow scored and breed surveyed Class 1.
We are active members of the German Shepherd Dog Club of Queensland and committee members of the Mareeba & District Kennel Club. We joined the GSDCQ in 2004 and were honored to be presented with the GSDCQ Encouragement Award in 2006.
Many people have helped us in the dog world including Sue, Ken & Ros of Kayrossi GSD’s, Sharon Thorp the President of the GSDCQ, Sharon & Brian of Amstine GSD’s and Rhonda Miles of Kemulvak Alaskan Malamutes, Victoria
I first met Rhonda when I was in the RAAF in the mid 1980’s in Victoria where we were both members of the Broadmeadows Obedience Dog Club. Rhonda was training a Malamute and I was training Rani, my first GSD. After an unexpected comment by Denise about Malamutes, I contacted Rhonda and she had enough faith in us to give us one of her pups to campaign in the Far North. She has recently sold us a stunning pup from her latest litter to join Zeena at our home.
